Clark County Fire Department is the largest paid fire department in Nevada and is responsible for protecting the famed Las Vegas Strip, the largest part of the Las Vegas Valley spanning 293 square miles, and a county the size of New Jersey at 7,790 square miles.

Clark County Fire Department also provides services to the resort townships of Laughlin, Primm and Jean.

The department is an active one, responding to 134,294 2016 Annual Report​ – 3,805 fires, 122,408 medical calls and 6,725 other calls, including false alarms and mutual aid responses in other jurisdictions. In addition, the Fire Department maintains one of only 28 urban search and rescue teams in the country and provides fire and rescue services to the nation’s ninth-busiest airport.

The department has 30 full-time fire stations maintained by 697 personnel, including 638 suppression personnel and 67 authorized support staff positions. The department also oversees the state’s largest volunteer force with 170 volunteers, who serve in the rural parts of the County at 13 volunteer stations.

The department is lead by Fire Chief Greg Cassell, the department's 10th chief, appointed on Feb. 17, 2015.
